My preparation journal…

I’ve always wished I could be on of those happy go lucky people who never worry about anything. Whatever will be will be… right? Well, not for me. I’ve gone through most of my life being a worry wart. What if this happens? What if that happens? The giant “what if” constantly hangs over my head. Usually I worry with good reason. Something ALWAYS happens.

Recently there have been a lot of media coverage on 2012 and beyond. What will happen? Will Yellowstone erupt? Will aliens come to annihilate us? Will the sun shoot a huge flare at the earth? Will the poles flip? Will the glaciers completely melt? Will there be major drought and world wide famine? There are a lot of theories out there. No one knows for sure what will happen. One thing is for sure – the world is changing for the worse.  The cost of gasoline is ridiculous. There is major unrest throughout the world. There are millions starving to death because there is not enough food to go around. We are destroying our earth. UGH!

It is pretty much a fact that people do not take action until they absolutely have to. I’m not going to be one of those people. I’ve decided to create this blog to document the hows and the whys of my preparations for the future. I’m not necessarily preparing for “the end of the world” , but I’m preparing for whatever I can do to ensure that in the event of an emergency or long term crisis that my family is taken care of.

I’m a military wife. I’m 36 years old. I have a husband, two children and six cats to take care of. I won’t be able to prepare for every scenario, but I can take the little steps necessary to improve our situation in the event that something major happens.
